Nina H. Mollhagen

Died August 10, 2016 at the age of 91. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI, on August 2, 1925; a daughter of the late Robert and Lynn (Worden) Holmes. She was united in marriage to Frank "Don" Mollhagen, who preceded her in death on October 20, 2011. Nina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a supporter of her community and a poet. Cremation has taken place and no public visitation or services are scheduled. There will be a private family gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Southwestern Michigan.

It's about time
Timeline? Lifetime?
Existence metered out
In seconds, minutes, hours-
A freshly minted pack
Slipped under the door
Each day at dawn-moments to be savored or endured-
Assigned to some dull chore,
Or frittered idly away?
A few chosen for the recall file,
Enjoyed again another day.
But orderly, accurate time
Cannot account for days
That swell-expand-that will not end
But stretch to fill dark hours
With nightmare and despair
Their counterpart, those joyful bits
That sweep in unannounced-
Breeze through our dull days
To catch us up to sing and dance-
Then suddenly slip from
Our grasp too soon.
