Nancy Sue (Hadaway) Barnett

Nancy Barnett, age 81 of Galesburg, died at home under hospice care on June 27, 2022. She was born on December 21, 1940, in South Pittsburgh, Tennessee, the daughter of William and Hazel (Walden) Hadaway. As a child, Nancy met Thomas Richard Barnett, or "Richard" as Nancy called him. The couple grew up and fell in love and were married and celebrated 66 years of marriage this year. Nancy moved around with her military husband until settling in Kalamazoo. She worked for 20 years as a cashier at Rite Aid. Tom and Nancy attended the Galesburg United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, and gardening. Her family includes her husband, Tom "Richard" Barnett; her children: Charles (Susan) Barnett, Tim (Kathy) Barnett, and Tom (Sara) Barnett; her 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters: Joseph (Joyce) Hadaway, David (Sandy) Hadaway, Linda Harris, and Rosemary Richards; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Pamela Barnett, her sisters: Alvira Fredericks and Gracie Cornell, and her brother, Charles Hadaway.

The family will greet friends on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, from 11:30 AM- 12:30 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 622 S. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 6th, at 1:30 PM at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Nancy's name may be directed to Centrica Care Navigators.
