Morden Paul Schuur

Morden Schuur, beloved husband, father, grandfather and World War II veteran, passed away on May 4, 2020. Morden was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on November 12, 1920. He graduated from Albion College in 1942 and was then drafted into the US Army. He was subsequently sent to Myitkyina, Burma where he became a Captain in the Military Police. It was in Burma that he met his future wife, Edna, Captain in the Army Nurse Corps. He returned to the US in 1946 and was married shortly thereafter. Morden attended the Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago, and after graduation, the couple returned to Kalamazoo. He practiced law for over 50 years, initially partnering with his father, Reint Schuur.

Morden served on the Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners, was a Circuit Court Commissioner, a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion.

He is survived by his 3 children and 5 grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A private service will be held at a later date.
