Passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the age of 63. Michael was born November 30, 1952 in Kalamazoo, to the late Ernest and Eleanor (Stermer) Woodhams. Michael served in the U.S. Army from April of 1972 until honorably discharged in January of 1974. Michael was a lover of all things musical, and was a master guitarist with perfect pitch. Also affectionately known as "Woody", he spent many years living in the Roscommon and St. Helen, MI areas making many friends along the way. He retired from Western Michigan University as a journeyman electrician. Michael is survived by his daughter, Amanda 'Mandy' (James 'Mike') Sweet; 1 granddaughter; his longtime, loving step-father, Harold Heikes; siblings, Ron (Dorothy) Woodhams, Alan (Cindy) Woodhams, Barb (Greg) Deibert and Robert (Margaret) Woodhams; many nieces and nephews; and his loveable companion mutt, Layla. A memorial service will be Monday, January 25th, 2:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St., Kalamazoo. MSgr. Michael Hazard will officiate services. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St. Private burial will be at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials in Michael's name may be directed to a charity of your choice.
