Michael Jaye Underwood

Michael Jaye Underwood, III, passed away unexpectedly on July 24, 2021. He was born January 1, 1996 in Kalamazoo to Mary A. Gibson and the late Michael J. Underwood, II.

Mike will be remembered for his ability to make others laugh and the love he had for his family. He enjoyed spending time with his girlfriend and her son, hanging out with family, and group chatting with his siblings and mother. He had a love for climbing trees and put this to use in his career with Asplundh as a tree trimmer.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Michael J. Underwood, II.

Mike leaves behind to cherish his memory mother, Mary Gibson and stepfather Jim; grandfather, Michael J. Underwood, Sr.; grandmother, Pam Olney; brothers, Devan and Jaden; sisters, Elaina and Yadia; as well as many other friends and relatives.

The family will greet friends Monday, August 2, 2021 from 10:00am-2:00pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where a time to share memories will be begin at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, payable to Mary Gibson and mailed in care of Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 622 South Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
