Passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Borgess Medical Center. Age 52. Michael was born in Kalamazoo on July 30, 1964. He was employed as a mechanic by Wilson Air Equipment. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening. He is survived by his loving fiancé and companion, Kathleen Dalman; his mother, Effie Wilma Hill; two sons, Chad A. Lang and Dustin J. (Sara) Gettig; step-daughter, Kristina Johnson; six grandchildren, Charles, Sereniti, Dominick, Shawn, Destiny and Tristian; and four sisters, Mary Beth (Steve) Gardner, Patience "Patty" Leigh Ruggio, Jeanine Lynn Roberts and Brenda Kay Councell. Michael was preceded in death by his father, William James Hill Jr.; and his brother-in-law, Craig Councell. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. The funeral service will be held at the funeral chapel at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 19th, officiated by Rev. Doug Vardel. Interment will follow in West Cooper Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family to establish a fund to care for Michael's grandchildren.
