Age 66 Peacefully passed away with his family by his side on May 30th 2009 after a 4 ½ year fight with Brain Cancer. He was born February 12th 1943, the son of Glenn & Phyllis Flamm. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Heine October 16, 1986 who survives. Mike was a life long resident of Parchment and a member of the first graduating class of Parchment High School 1961. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mike's patriotism was a significant part of his life. Mike was a Parchment Reserve Police Officer in the early 1970's and a volunteer fire fighter as well. Mike was employed by General Motors for 31 years in the accounting & engineering departments. He took great pride in his snow plowing & lawn care business which he owned and operated for 38 years. He enjoyed his friendships & active participation with the Otsego Moose Lodge #345, Otsego Elks, Otsego VFW, and the American Legion. Mike was an avid & talented woodworker and craftsman. Mike was preceded in death by his Mother and a Daughter, Kelly Renee Flamm. Surviving are his children, Scott Carol Flamm of Kalamazoo, DeAnna Todd Phillips of Parchment and Todd Katie Flamm of Parchment; seven grandchildren Kelly, KaLeigh, Ryan, Kaleigh, Holly, Andrew and Sara; his father, Glenn Flamm of Parchment; a brother, David Janet Flamm of Plainwell; an Uncle, Aunt, Mother-In Law, several nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm., Rev. Dan Minor officiating. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery on Thursday June 4th at 1:30 pm. Those planning to attend the committal service should arrive by 1:20 pm and park in the funeral cortege assemby area. Memorials may be directed to Borgess Visiting Nurses & Hospice or the Otsego Moose Lodge.
