Michael Leo Cipriano

Michael Leo Cipriano, age 65, passed away unexpectedly at his home. He was born January 5, 1954 in Kalamazoo, MI a son of Joseph F. and Ruth L. (Wheater) Cipriano and had been a lifelong area resident.

After graduating from Hackett Catholic Central, Mike attended Western Michigan University and graduated with a degree in business. Mike was a great people leader and he held many different supervisory positions in manufacturing over his career. He was also a great lover of books and was a voracious reader. He loved playing chess and spending time with his children.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank Cipriano; and an infant brother, Jeffrey Cipriano. He is survived by four children, Stephanie (David) Fortino, Vincent M.R. Cipriano, Zachary (Leigh) Cipriano and Jacob J. Cipriano; four grandchildren, Jacob A. Cipriano, Drew Fortino, Lindsey Fortino and Rosie Cipriano-Fryling; and a sister, Sharon Galbreath. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 19th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Burial & Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007 where a Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 20th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St, Kalamazoo, MI 49001.
