Mary Kathleen (McGuire) Haughey

Kathy passed away on Thursday May 26, 2022, In Bronson Hospital. She was born on January13, 1941, in Menominee, Michigan, a daughter of Henry McGuire and Rose (Bourgeois) McGuire.

Kathy graduated from St. Phillip High School in 1958. She received her RN degree in nursing from Holy Cross College in South Bend, Indiana along with a bachelor's and master's degree from Western Michigan University. Kathy taught at holy cross for two years then returned to Battle Creek as a nurse for Dr. Young, Dr. McCuaig, and Dr. Morrison.

Kathy worked for General Foods retiring as head nurse from the medical department. On March 5, 1976, Kathy married Charles Haughey. Before retiring from General Foods, Kathy and Charlie moved to Portage, Michigan and built a house on the Moors Golf Club Association.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband Charles, Parents, two brothers, and a sister. She is survived by a brother, Richard (Sandra) McGuire; sister-in-law, Donna McGuire, Sue Ellen Haughey, and Amy June (Harry) Doughtery, and several nieces and nephews. Respecting Kathy's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held, Kathy will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.
