Martin "Marty" L. Flatland

Passed away suddenly Monday, January 16, 2017 at the age of 61. Marty was born December 29, 1955 in San Francisco, CA to the late Lloyd and Mary (Kern) Flatland. Marty was united in marriage to Kathleen "Kitty" Klingel in 1984. He was currently a partner and the Chief Technology Officer of SiteSelect Medical Technologies. Marty was an avid bicyclist; both mountain and road cycling. He was a member of the Kalamazoo Bike Club. Marty had a love for Australian cattle dogs and never missed his daily walks in the woods with his dog Josie at Markin Glen Park. Marty is survived by his wife, Kitty Flatland; daughter, Amy (Brian) French, 2 grandchildren and a blessing on the way; siblings, Jeanne (Tom Landon) Flatland, Steve Flatland, Sally (David Griffin) Flatland and Robert (Brenda Dahl) Flatland; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 1-2:00 p.m. St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 421 Monroe Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49006, where a memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Fr. Dan Hyman officiating. Cremation has already taken place. Family served by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
