Margaret Elaine (Hassing) Spencer

Passed away Wednesday morning, April 20, 2022 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. Margaret was born April 6, 1942 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Peter and Jennie (Kline) Hassing. She was the owner of Burlwood Stables for 60 years. Margaret was a talented rider and instructor. She was a member of the American Riding Instructors Association and was involved with the Great Lakes Area Schooling Shows. She had a love for animals; and enjoyed riding, painting, reading, crocheting. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Bud Hassing. Margaret is survived by her brothers and sister, Ron (Addie) Hassing, Barbara Reeder-Weaver, Pete (Gloria) Hassing, Glenn (Lois) Hassing, Kenny Hassing (Julie Loar); and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Private family interment will be in Liberty Street Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
