McBRIDE, Margaret H.
of Kalamazoo Passed away November 27, 2010 at the Laurels of Sandy Creek in Wayland. She was born June 30, 1931 in Hilliards, MI to the late Joseph and Helen Czachorski Adamczyk. Margaret was married to Richard McBride at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Hilliards, MI on August 23, 1952. Richard preceded her in death in 1974. She was a 1949 Wayland Union High School graduate. Margaret was involved with the Kalamazoo Association for Retarded Children, now known as Community Advocates for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. She was also involved within many areas of St. Monica Catholic Church as well as being a past member of the parish choir. She retired from the Upjohn Company after 20-plus years of employment, after which she spent much of her time enjoying her grandchildren. Surviving Margaret are her children, Gregory McBride and Nancy Hively, both of Kalamazoo, Lisa Steve Forsythe of Dorr, MI and Robert McBride of Portage; 5 grandchildren, Alex and Erin Forsythe, Spencer, Cooper and Grady Hively; brothers, Richard Adamczyk and Arnold Dorothy Adamczyk; sisters, Dorothy Bob Mull, Pat Bob Akers and Tina Northrup; and many nieces and nephews. Family will greet friends on Tuesday from 4-8:00 o'clock at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., where a Rosary service will take place at 7:00 o'clock. A Mass of Christian burial will take place Wednesday, 11:00 o'clock at St. Monica Catholic Church, 4408 S. Westnedge Ave. Burial will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, S. Westnedge. Memorials may be directed to Residential Opportunities, Inc. an organization helping the mentally challenged, 1100 S. Rose St., Kalamazoo, MI 49001.
