SUTTON, Margaret G.
Kalamazoo, MI

Margaret Grace "Peggy" Sutton, age 82, passed away peacefully March 30, 2018 in Kalamazoo, MI. Peggy was born October 7, 1935 in Holland, MI, the daughter of Otto and Helen (Hospers) Yntema. She received her Master's Degree in Library Services and was a elementary school teacher in Kalamazoo County and Holliston, MA for many years. She developed one of the first open classrooms, and taught others how to use that concept. Peggy loved reading, social activities and spending time in the sun…especially at South Haven. Peggy was a Senior Companion for many years at Senior Services, Borgess and Park Place Assisted Living. She loved her Lord, faithfully attending First Assembly Church and Hart to Heart Ministries. Peggy was dutiful in sharing her faith and had acquired a family nickname as the "Gospel Gorilla". The most important part of her life was her family. Surviving are her two sons Brook Sutton of Brookfield, MA and Bradley Sutton of Steamboat Springs, CO, her sister Helene (Phil) Boothroyd of Kalamazoo and many other special family and friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joan Ettwein. In accordance with Peggy's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, September 8th at the Hart to Heart Ministries, 2401 E. Milham Ave., Portage, MI 49002. Most of all, Peggy wanted to be remembered as a woman who loved life! Memorials in Peggy's memory may be given to Hart to Heart Ministries at 2401 E.
