Passed away Tuesday morning, August 18, 2015 at her residence. Luella was born July 19, 1937 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Laurel and Virginia (Avery) Meeth. She worked for 19 years with the Upjohn Company and enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and traveling. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. On December 15, 1961 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Nelson Major who survives. Also surviving are her children, Michelle (Terry) Finafrock, Matthew (Mary) Major, Mark (Sondra) Major, Mary Ellen (Bill) DeYoung; 7 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Laurel Hyames-Sayre, Tom Meeth, Cynthia Nepper, Mary Bock, Phil Meeth, Virginia Major, Carolyn Martin, Nate Meeth, Natalie VanEngen; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jim, Craig and Mike Meeth. Services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, August 22 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street with Rev. Don DeYoung officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Friday from 1-3 and 5-7pm at the Westside Chapel. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
