Lucian O. Garber "Skip"

July 15, 1937 — May 7, 2020

On May 7th, Lucian "Skip" Garber, age 82, unexpectedly went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Born July 15th, 1937 in Decatur County, Iowa to Osa and Dorothy Garber. His life was centered around farming and going to church. At 13 years of age he gave his heart and life to Jesus Christ at Lake Ahquabi in Iowa. In 1955, Skip moved to Warsaw, Indiana where he graduated from high school. He attended Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana for 2 ½ years. It was there he met the love of his life, Jeannine Clark. They were married June 11, 1960 and lived in Marion, Indiana where he worked in housing construction. In 1966, he was employed with GM in Kalamazoo where he worked for 3 years and then moved to the Upjohn Company in Portage for 26 years. He retired in 1996. During those years he was the youth leader at Mapleview Baptist Church and served on the deacon board. After retirement, they served with the Baptist Church Planters organization centered in Grafton, Ohio for 10 years. He also taught an adult S.S. Class at Berean where they were members. His hobbies included camping, fishing, and traveling. Skip will be remembered for his devotion to God, love for family, and willingness to help others.

He leaves behind his loving wife Jeannine of 60 years this June, his 4 children, Jeff (Kim), Melissa (Craig), Anna (Jeff), and Shelly (Cory), along with 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is survived by 2 sisters, JoAnn Henderson and Phyllis Kay Horton, a brother, John Garber, and several brothers in law, nieces and nephews.
