Of Kalamazoo Passed away Thursday morning, July 2, 2015. Lillyan was born February 16, 1932 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Robert and Alice Dickey Johnson. On May 26, 1951 she was united in marriage to her loving husband Carl Tarnow who survives. Lillyan enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Lillyan spent many years side by side with Carl working in their business, Catering by Tarnow. She was a very hardworking and artistic person, and will be missed by many. Surviving besides her husband Carl are her children, Gregory Carol Tarnow, Kevin Tarnow, Brenda Bill Basak; grandchildren, Josh, Alyce, Rachel, Emily, Nicholas, Laura, Zachary, and Mady; a sister, Millicent Richard Billette; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Robert Johnson. Services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, July 7 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Friends may meet the family Monday from 5-8pm at the Westside Chapel. Private family interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Red Cross.
