Lillian passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the age of 86. She was born on February 22, 1931 in Elgin, IL a daughter of Bernhardt and Willimina (Egert) Zimmick. Lillian was employed for many years at Humphrey Products. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Joseph Cowgill and Louie Smith; three siblings, John, Richard and Mareta Zimmick; a son-in-law, Randy Schmidt and a grandson, Joshua Schmidt. Surviving are a daughter, Sue Schmidt of Galesburg; two grandchildren, Kari and Kyle Schmidt; two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Benjamin Schmidt; several nieces and a cousin, Arlene Watermann. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 Saturday morning, September 23rd in Riverside Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the service should be at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, by 10:45 Saturday morning for the procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Southern Care Hospice.
