OTTO, Lievieta ?Granny Lea?
of Kalamazoo Passed away Monday morning, November 21, 2011. Lea was born February 12, 1924, in Supply, Arkansas the daughter of the late Herman and Edra Watson Knowlton. She was a longtime member of the 12th Street Baptist Church. Lea enjoyed spending time with her family and operated a daycare for over 30 years. Prior to her retirement she worked in the cafeteria at both Waylee and Moorsbridge Elementary Schools for several years. On January 23, 1943 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, John Otto, Sr. who preceded her in death on August 8, 1985. She was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Logan; brother, Buck Knowlton: and a sister, Joyce Wood. Surviving are her children, John, Jr. ?Jack? Pat Otto, Ron Shirley Otto, Jimmy Otto and Heidi Curry, Linda Mel Ochampaugh, Mary Curry, Jeff Waldon; 8 grandchildren, Bill Mandy, Brandon Shanon, Cindy Charlie, Windy, Julie Ann, Jessica, Tim Tami; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Frieda Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 o?clock Monday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre with Pastor Randy Burnett officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Comstock. Friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-6pm at the Portage Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the 12th Street Baptist Church.
