COOK, Mr. Kenneth L.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Thursday afternoon August 29, 2013. Ken was born October 10, 1938 in Grand Rapids , Michigan. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1968 and was employed with the Portage Public Schools PCEC for 15 years, retiring in 2000. He also worked in real estate and mortgage banking. On December 10, 1966, he was united in marriage to Carole L. Gray Cook who survives. Ken was an avid bowler, golfer, and pool player. He loved his many dogs and cats. He enjoyed meeting and visiting with friends at The Antique Kitchen and making many new friends. He was also a member of the Civic Theatre. Also surviving, a brother, Ronald Delores Cook of Grand Rapids; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may meet the family 4-6pm Saturday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center or the Kalamazoo Humane Society. A living wake was previously held where many family and friends gathered to celebrate his life. Many pictures of Ken throughout his life were displayed in his home which will be a permanent reminder of his many loves and life. He will be remembered for his integrity in dealings with all and his smile and his laugh. He was a genuine person loved by many.
