Kenneth Gordon Ashbaugh

May 27, 1919 — November 16, 2016

Passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the age of 97. He was born May 27, 1919 in Buckingham, CO to the late Harry and Clara (Hunt) Ashbaugh. He was united in marriage to Ada Stubbs on April 7, 1945. Ada preceded him in death on July 21, 2009. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during WWII, from December of 1940 until honorably discharged in September of 1945. He was employed at The Upjohn Company for over 35 years. He was a member of the Kalamazoo Dunes Orchid Society for 30 years and had a passion for growing and tending to his orchid garden. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed supplying the neighborhood with fresh vegetables. Kenneth is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Nola Southerd, Evelyn Lamon, Roy, Richard, Norman and Keith Ashbaugh. The family will greet friends on Monday, November 21st from 12-1:00pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Hwy, where a funeral service will begin at 1:00pm. Committal service will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. We would like to thank all of the dedicated people at Wyndham West that took such good care of Ken and made him feel at home and loved. Lastly, he will be dearly missed by his "neighborhood family" that have helped look out for him for years: Joe and Sue Massey, Scott and Sue Flower, Sandy Hall and, especially, Ken's very good friend, Bill Hall.
