DINDA, Keith E.
Schoolcraft Passed away Sunday December 28, 2014 at home with his family. Keith was born October 3, 1925 in Kalamazoo the son of Paul and Irene Benwire Dinda. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Prior to his retirement he was a teacher for a total of 34 years in the Brethren, Schoolcraft and Kalamazoo Public Schools. Keith was a life member of Zion Lutheran Church where he enjoyed singing in the church choir for 73 years; and was on the Finance Committee for 28 years. He also enjoyed being a 4-H leader, woodworking, and doing stained glass projects. On October 15, 1949 he was united in marriage to the love of his life of 65 years, the former Jacqueline Smith who survives. Also surviving are his children, Julia Kelly Weston, Karl Tricia Dinda, Janis Dinda, Kristin Rick VanCleave; son-in-law, Sam Deb Glascock; daughter-in-law, Tonya Dinda; 10 grandchildren, Katherine Jeremy Case, Gregg Nikki Dinda, Jessica Weston, , Leah Kristopher Wells, James Mary Dinda, Mikeal VanCleave, Marcus VanCleave, Steven Laina Glascock, Kristopher Brittany VanCleave, Grace Dinda; 15 great-grandchildren, Julian and Kameron Case, Danae and Alissa Langan, Claire and Addisyn Dinda, Troy and Emma Hoag, Ashlyn Wells, Devon Fouse, Gabriella Dinda, Gage VanCleave, Tristan, Bryce and Jackson VanCleave; 2 great-great grandchildren, Bentley and Jayce Langan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Karen Glascock; grand-daughters, Tiffany, Michelle, and Suzanne VanCleave; sister and brothers, Maxine, George, and Roger. A service to celebrate Keith's life will be held at 11:00am Saturday, January 3 at Zion Lutheran Church, 2122 Bronson Blvd, with Pastors Tim Seeber and Larry Brelje officiating. Friends may meet the family Saturday from 10-11, one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be in Schoolcraft Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
