Of Kalamazoo Joe passed away Saturday morning, January 8, 2011 at his home. He was born January 17, 1930 to Joseph and Ruth Cook Reardon. Joe was a lifelong resident of his cherished Kalamazoo. According to Joe, all universal measurements originated from Bronson Park. Joe was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during both the occupation of Germany and during the Korean Conflict. On August 22, 1951, he was united in marriage to Donna Mallory. Joe was employed by Peter Eckrich & Sons for over 30 years until his retirement in 1989. He was an avid University of Michigan Football fan and military historian. Most of all Joe was a wonderful family man who in his death leaves his family in tears, but in life made them laugh. Surviving are his devoted wife, Donna, of 59 years; three children, Mark Laurie Reardon of Manitowoc, WI, Pamala Jon DeBoer of Port Washington, WI, and Robin Mike Larkin of Syracuse, NY; seven grandchildren, Julie, Brenda, Joey, Jon, Mallory, Eric, and Kevin; four great-grandchildren, Maddie, Jack, Sam, and Molly. Especially close friends are Orin Armintrout Jr., the Brown family; and Joanie Mallory. Preceding him in death were his parents; his beloved grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Alberts; and two brothers, John and Noel Reardon. Memorial services for Joe will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, with Rev. James Dyke officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Ministry with Community, or a charity of one's choice.
