Mac died peacefully in the morning of Tuesday April 12, 2016 at Bronson Hospital. Joe suffered from prostate cancer, but insisted on working at his law practice and walking his dogs up until the day he died. Mac was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his sister and brother; Kathleen (McCully) Bohm and Kevin Kane McCully; and his niece and nephew; Carolyn Ann Bohm and Carl Wolfgang Bohm. Joe (Mac) was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on April 14, 1950, to Joseph Courtney Senior and Virginia (Kane) McCully; he grew up in Kalamazoo and attended University High School. He entered Alma College in 1971 and graduated from Western Michigan University. He entered Toledo Law school where he obtained his JD degree. Joe practiced law in Kalamazoo for over 30 years. Joe was a compassionate man who trusted and cared for those around him. Joe loved dogs and was passionately devoted to his 'pack'. He walked them religiously and often seen walking up to ten dogs at one time. One of his dogs insisted on being dragging along on its back to its enjoyment, but the consternation of observers. Joe moved to his residence on Fish Hatchery Road so that he could walk his dogs at the fish hatchery.
