Grosser, Joseph C. David

Passed away on June 5, 2017 at the age of 74. Joseph was born in Kalamazoo on June 18, 1942, the son of the late Joseph Jacob Grosser and Clara (Boers) Grosser. He worked for 30 years in the public school system, serving as teacher and coach for the Kalamazoo Central High School and Mattawan High School. He then moved on to serve as an administrator at Marysville High School, in which he coached football before retiring in 1993. He is survived by his wife, Judith Ann (Van Dyken) Grosser; children, Christopher (Evelyn) Grosser, James (fiancé, Angel King) Grosser and Darin (Carrie) Grosser; six grandchildren, Adam, Christopher, Nick, Addison, Valerie and Kennedy; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Lubbert; and one brother-in-law, Lawrence (Jan) Thomas; his step-mother, Kate Grosser; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Thomas. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday and 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007. The funeral service will be held at the funeral chapel on Friday at 11 a.m., with Rev. James Dyke officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes.
