John "Jack" Allen Walker

November 26, 1935 — June 11, 2019

Dr. John Allen Walker (Jack) age 83 passed away June 11, 2019. He was born in Highland Park, Michigan to the late George and Lily Walker. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hall Overby Walker and children: Cindi (Dave) McClenaghan, Michelle Gephart, and Jeff (Lisa)Walker. Step-children are Mark Overby (Liz) and Lori Beyer (Dean). He had ten beloved grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also, five step-children from a former marriage that were important in his life.

Jack graduated from Eastern Michigan University and later received his Ph.D in Clinical Psychology from the University of Michigan. In his early years, he was a teacher and principal in public schools and a clinical psychologist for a number of years.

For thirty-two years he taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Michigan in Executive Education Management of the Business school teaching leadership styles. He also worked at Notre Dame University, Mendoza College of Business Executive Education and Miami of Ohio University. His work often took him to countries all over the world.

He was a past deacon at Portage United Church of Christ and more recently a member of First Congregational Church where he led an "Aging with Attitude" group.

A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church in Kalamazoo on July 11th, 2019 at 11 o'clock in the morning. Memorials can be made to the First Congregational Church, Music Fund at 345 W. Michigan Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
