John Cornelius Meyer

Went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 23, 2021 at the age of 70. John was born December 1, 1950 in Medemblik, Holland to the late Tibor and Grace Meyer. He was united in marriage to Marilyn M. Meyer on June 18, 1971.

John lived a life of service and always put others above himself. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and always lived a life of sharing God's love. He was a longtime member of Calvary Community Church and was very involved with many ministries there. John loved making things beautiful and took great pride in his work at Western Michigan University. John loved spending time with his family and many grandkids, puzzles, woodworking, gardening, and camping. John had a great sense of quirky humor and lived a life full of serving others.

John is preceded in death by his loving wife Marilyn Meyer. and is survived by his children, Maria Holland and her children, Jadon and Jori; Amy Jo (Kevin) Oosterhouse and their children, Noah, Naomi, Max, Marlee and Levi; Johnny Meyer and his children, Collin, Leah, Audrey and Jackson; siblings Kees, Albert (Wilma), Nick (Margaret), Geno (Gerda), Gizella (John) and preceded in death by Margaret, Mary and Grace.

The family will greet friends and family on Friday, May 28 from 4-7pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 3926 S. 9th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009. A private burial will be held at Alamo Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in John's name may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
