Portage, MI Died Saturday morning July 13, 2013 at his residence. John was born July 21, 1941 in Memphis, Tennessee a son of Glavish and Charlotte Whitney Goff. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Kenneth Mellema Company for many years, retiring in 1994. John was preceded in death by his father, Glavish; 2 daughters, Ginger Goff and Pamela Dykehouse; a brother, Michael Goff; and a grandson, Skyler Goff. On April 19, 1969, he was united in marriage to Alma J. Holmes Goff who survives. Also surviving, 4 children, Debbie Goff of Alabama, Tammy Johnson of Kalamazoo, Frankie Wilson of Michigan; and Patricia "Penni" Timothy Moran of Mattawan; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his mother, Charlotte Goff of Kalamazoo; a sister, Sharon Crowe of Florida; 4 brothers, twin Sam "Forest" Pam Goff of Colorado, Bob Debbie Goff of Tennessee, Jim Goff of Portage, and Tom Goff of Kalamazoo; a sister-in-law, Shirley Holmes of Portage; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held 11o'clock Tuesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
