SKINNER, Jeffery L. "Gabby"
of Galesburg Jeffery passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, August 30, 2011, at his home. He was born July 8, 1954, in Montgomery, AL, the son of Robert and Alberta Bowman Skinner. Jeffery worked as a journeyman millwright and tinsmith at James River until they closed and was currently employed at Graphic Packaging of Battle Creek. Jeff was an extremely devoted family man and dedicated worker. He enjoyed riding his Harleys in his free time and listening to rock-'n'-roll music. Jeff was also a member of Northeastern Baptist Church. Jeff was united in marriage on August 10, 1993, to his soul mate, Tammy Menne, who survives. Also surviving are: four children, Melynda Skinner of Kalamazoo, Rhoda Drew Fessler of Vicksburg, Jessica Skinner of New Orleans, LA and Ivan John Hudson of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren, Angel Rousch, Areell Varga and Katlyn Fessler; two brothers, John Edwards of Cooper Twp. and Bobby Skinner of Arizona; a sister, Patti Skinner of Kalamazoo; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother. Services will be held 11:00 Friday morning at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., with Pastor Greg Bishop, officiating. Interment in Galesburg's Oak Grove Cemetery will follow services. Visitation will be held 6-8pm Thursday and 10-11am Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Jeffery's family requests memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society, Borgess Visiting Nurse and Hospice, or the Humane Society of Kalamazoo County.
