HAAN, JAMIE JON

Jamie Jon Haan, age 40, passed away suddenly on November 23, 2015 at his residence in Portage. Jamie was born April 3, 1975 in Kalamazoo, the son of Menno and Judy (Hollander) Haan. He was a lifelong area resident and was employed as an HVAC technician with Schwartz Heating & Cooling. Jamie was an avid sports fan of the Chicago Cubs, Ohio State Buckeyes, Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Lions. He had also enjoyed playing Little League Baseball as a youth and later playing softball and golfing. Surviving are his parents Menno and Judy Haan; his sister Jodi (Scott) DeVries and brother Joel Haan; niece and nephew, Rachel and Josh DeVries; and very special uncle John Haan. He was preceded in death by a nephew A.J. DeVries. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, November 27th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. A service to celebrate Jamie's life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 28th at the Westside Chapel with Pastor Jeff Whittaker officiating. A private family burial will take place. Memorials in Jamie's memory may be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
