James Alfred Werner

James A. Werner, age 83, passed away peacefully April 11, 2022, at Borgess Hospital. Jim was born in Kalamazoo, the oldest of four children of Alfred and Agnes (Ninke) Werner. He was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. On October 12, 1963, he was united in marriage to Cheryl J. Cole. He is survived by two sons, Ronald of Portage and David of Comstock; five grandchildren Kristen, Courtney, Kurtis, Kevin, Kyle; a great granddaughter, Avah; one brother, Charles; one sister, Martha (Kouder), many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in passing by his wife, Cheryl; his parents; his stepmom, Trena; and his brother, John. He enjoyed his quiet time, fishing, and road trips to South Haven.

In accordance with James' wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial celebration of James' life will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 622 South Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49007, on Tuesday May 3, 2022, at 2pm
