Climax James passed away Tuesday, Apr 21, 2015 at the age of 88. He was born May 24, 1926 in Missaukee County, MI to the late Peter and Lulu Carpenter Vandenboss. He was united in marriage to June Gould on September 14, 1973. She preceded him in death in September of 2014. James served in the U.S. Army from May of 1945 until honorably discharged in March of 1947. Among James' many interests were fishing, tinkering in the yard and raising birds. He also had a love for tractors. James is survived by his children, Judy Hayes, Duane Vandenboss and Thomas Vandenboss; grandchildren, Christi David Rumsey, Mike Tonya Hayes, Duane Brandy Vandenboss, Trina Vandenboss, Michelle Jeff Jameson, Bill Christina Vandenboss Nicole Darby Felton; many great grandchildren; sister, Vera "Glennie" Swan; brother, Everett Vandenboss; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 6 sisters. The family will greet friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 East Maple St., on Monday, April 27, 2015 from 4-7pm where a funeral service will take place on Tuesday, April 28th at 12:30pm. Burial will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
