James H. Baker

BAKER, James H. Jim passed away on Friday May 1, 2015 at his home. He was born on May 18, 1937 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late John Jr. and Helen Ackerman Baker. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army and was employed by The Upjohn Co. for over 20 years until his retirement. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and bowling. Preceding him in death were his wife, Judith Miles Baker and brother, Larry Baker. Surviving are two children, Joseph Dee Baker of Kalamazoo and Jodeen Steve Washington of Cedar Springs; five grandchildren, Josephine, Brianna, Mackenzie, Alyssa, and Lindsey; brother, John III Margaret Baker; sister, Linda Baker; and former spouse, Jackie Baker. Friends may visit with Jim's family on Friday, May 8, from 5-8 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Private inurnment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
