ROSE, Jack D.
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Monday evening, January 24, 2011 at the Kairos Dwelling. Jack was born June 13, 1938 in Kalamazoo the son of George and Floydine Cramer Rose and had been a life long resident in the Kalamazoo area. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1958. Prior to his retirement, Jack spent 26 years as a firefighter with the City of Kalamazoo and then 10 years with the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time up north at his lake house in Baldwin. He was a member of the Baldwin AMVETS #1988, and the VFW Peacock Post #5315. In 1997, he was united in marriage to his loving wife, the former Darlene Jensen who survives. Also surviving are his children, Jack Rose II, Dennis Rose, Catherine Randy Spinelli, Jean Rose, Cynthia McNutt, Sonya Tim Logsden; 9 grandchildren, Jack III, Autumn, Pamela, Kenneth, Randy Jr., Patty, Jessica, Jennifer, and Shane; 4 great-grandchildren; his mother, Floydine Epperly; sister and brother, Cindy Glenn Howes, Franklin Marybeth Reese; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. A graveside service at Ft. Custer National Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
