Kalamazoo Passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 10, 2012 and went to be with the Lord and her parents. Ida was born December 12, 1936 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Merritt L. and Gertrude M. Elgersma Holt and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. She worked for Western Michigan University for many years in the business office. Ida was preceded in death by her parents. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Ida was an avid reader, loved cooking, baking and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Edward Falardeau of Sylvania, OH; her son, Jeffrey Annalisa Cutshaw of Kalamazoo; 4 grandchildren, Thomas & Jordan Falardeau and Zachary & Ashley Cutshaw; a brother, Milan Doris Holt of Kalamazoo; a sister, Phyllis Roy Smith of Vicksburg; nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., with Rev. James Dyke officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 10:00 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Kairos Dwelling or the charity of one's choice.
