Howard Sam Angel

ANGEL, Howard Sam Howard Sam Angel was born in Kalamazoo on July 14, 1924, the son of the late Byron and Martha Charkowski Angel. He served in the United States Navy from January of 1943 to December of 1945, on the USS Bradford DD545. Sam graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and was retired from the old Upjohn Co., after 30 years of service. Sam belonged to the Centre Street Church of God. He was united in marriage to Hilda Sutfin Angel on September 20, 1946, who preceded him in death in April of 2011. Sam is survived by his children, JoAnn Ron Wormbrand, Jackie Tim Diller and James H. Angel; two grandsons, Scott Wormbrand and Tom Jen Diller; four great grandchildren; a sister, Doris Sutfin; many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his brothers, Leroy, Alfred and Lawrence and a sister, Irene Tolmacs. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation or services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the charity of one's choice.
