WERKMAN, Helen C.
of Portage Helen passed away on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011. She was born July 29, 1921 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late John and Catherine Lis Zieba, and sister to Edward and Stanley Zieba, who also preceded her in death. Helen was married to Martin E. Werkman for 43 years until his passing in 1986. She is surviving by their two children, Russell Nancy Werkman of Portage and Lynette Jim Taylor of Brighton; as well as four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren by marriage. Throughout her life, Helen devoted herself to the love and care of her family. She was a strong, independent and intelligent woman who valued the gift of life and found great joy in the beauty of God's creations. Funeral services for Helen will be at 2:00 PM on Friday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue, where friends may visit with the family from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Entombment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
