SCOTT, Grace J.
Of Kalamazoo Went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 5, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Grace was born on July 23, 1928 in Portage, MI, a daughter of Ebel and Henrietta Weessies Mulder and was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. She was a long time member of the Reformed Baptist Church. Grace was preceded in death by a sister Jean Dykstra. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Robert A. Scott to whom she was married on January 18, 1950. Also surviving are one son and three daughters, Donald P. Sandy Scott of Kalamazoo, Carol Gilkison of Plainwell, Sandy Steve Kiphart of Warsaw, IN and Debbie Jeff Verburg of Gobles; 6 grandchildren, Justin Stacy Verburg of Grand Rapids, Jennifer Dale Pease of Mattawan, Renee Spague of Kalamazoo, Joshua Gilkison of Kalamazoo, Jeremy Randi Lynn Gilkison of Plainwell and Brenden Kiphart and fiance' Sara Kuhn of Mentone, IN; step-grandchildren, James, Jeffery and John Schwab, all of Kalamazoo; 4 great-grandchildren, Brayden, Kaylin, Logan and Caleb; 2 brothers and 1 sister, Peter Frances Mulder of Lexington, KY, Ben Jean Mulder of Kalamazoo and Evelyn Jack Wenke of Plainwell; brother-in-law Andy Dykstra of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family on Tuesday from 1-3 & 6-8 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. 343-1508 Private interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 pm Wednesday at the Reformed Baptist Church of Kalamazoo, 708 Nichols Rd.
