Passed away Wednesday morning, July 27, 2016. Glen was born January 30, 1928 in Vicksburg, MI the son of Norman and Iris (Newton) Skippers and had been a lifelong resident in the Vicksburg and Portage area. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. Glen was a graduate of Western Michigan University and was an avid supporter and fan for his entire life. He was employed for several years with National Water Lift and retired after 17 years from the Eaton Corporation. Glen was a member of the Centre Ave Church of God and enjoyed bowling, golf, and spending time with his family. On July 6, 1952 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, the former Bonita Sager, who preceded him in death on February 5, 2013. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister, Norman, Elizabeth, and Ronald. Surviving are his children, Debra (Gregg) Elenbaas, Kim (Denise) Skippers, Jay (Mari) Skippers; 6 grandchildren, Laura and Barbra Elenbaas, Alex and Bryan Skippers, Drake and Trent Skippers; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday, August 13th at the Centre Avenue Church of God, 1917 East Centre Ave. Private interment will be held in Ft. Custer National Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
