Ferdinand Robert Macholz

Died Wednesday evening May 1, 2019 at his residence. Ferd was born July 13, 1931 in St. Joseph, Michigan a son of Ferdinand and Frieda (Liskey) Macholz Sr. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and owned and operated his insurance and investment company for over 58 years. Ferd was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Stanley and Leroy Macholz. On August 25, 1957, he was united in marriage to Marlis (Luethy) Macholz who survives. Also surviving, 2 children, Bill (Lisa) Macholz of Pueblo, CO and Mary Beth (Douglas) Headman of Sylvania, OH; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Saturday, May 25th at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 7211 Oakland Drive. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial will take place in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Michael Lutheran Church Trust Fund or to West Michigan Cancer Center.
