Formerly of Saginaw, MI Evelyn Marcellus Atchinson, age 90, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at her home in Portage, MI. She was born on Thursday, October 4, 1923 in Saginaw, MI a daughter of James and Ida Davis Darby. Evelyn was preceded in death by: her parents; a son, Gary D. Atchinson; and six siblings, Edward Darby, Mary Neuenfeldt, Marguerite Arndt, Arlene Ederer, Isabel Beden and Gerald Darby. Surviving are: a daughter, Judy Frye of Portage, MI; three grandchildren, Nikki Lloyd McGruder of Portage, MI, Kelly Mark Foerster of Ft. Collins, CO and Steven Atchinson; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Weiss; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 21, 2014 in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 950 N. Center Road, Saginaw, MI 48603.
