Of Galesburg, Mi. Betty passed away on the evening of Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at age 91. She was born in Broughty Ferry, Scotland and had been a resident of Kalamazoo and then of Galesburg since 1958. She retired from Hammond Machinery Co. of Kalamazoo after over 30 years of service as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Portage, Michigan. After she retired Betty volunteered as a greeter at the Kalamazoo Airport for several years. She was preceded in death by her two precious baby sons Richard and Colin Bruce, her parents Henry and Elizabeth Hart of Kalamazoo, Mi., her brother and sister-in-law John Ian and Margaret Peggy Hart of Salinas Ca., a sister and brother-in-law Lewisa R. and Edwin Edd Hogg of Kalamazoo Mi., a brother in law Raymond Ray Robinson of Sacramento Ca., and a nephew Donald Hart of Salinas Ca. She is survived by her sister Florence Bunty Robinson of S. San Francisco Ca., nieces Edna L. Ronald Thompson of Richland Mi., Elizabeth P. Jim Dodd of Lawton, Mi., Hazel Kevin Ames of Pacifica, Ca., Pauline John DeJong of Susanville Ca., Jackie Travis Jackson of Susanville, Ca., and nephews Alan Linda Robinson of Seattle, Wa., and Rob Linda Hart of Susanville, Ca., several great nieces and nephews, and special and loving friend and caretaker Wendy Wells Frisbie of Galesburg, Mi. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park on S. Westnedge Ave. in Kalamazoo at 11:00 a.m. with pastor Janet Duggins of Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating. Memorials may be given to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
