CHANEY, Edward B.

Passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the age of 86. He was born December 6, 1929 in Danville, AL to the late Ira and Gladys (James) Chaney. Eddie was united in marriage to Gloria Joan McManus, who preceded him in death in September of 2005. Eddie served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, from January of 1953 until honorably discharged in January of 1955. Eddie loved the Lord and received Him as his personal Savior. He worked at Green Bay Packaging and retired from there. He loved his dogs, gardening and long conversations with good friends. Eddie is survived by his sister, Wynelle Burton; step-daughter, Julie (Steve) Tinkey; grandson, David Tinkey; special nephews, Tim and Justin Chaney; special friends and caregivers, Carroll (Chris) Root and Tina (Tony) Bernheisel; and several nieces and nephews. Eddie was also preceded in death by his brother, Roman Chaney; a baby twin brother; and a baby twin-sister. Friends and family will be greeted on Thursday, July 14th from 9-10am at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St. Burial will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at 10:30am with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Eddie's name may be directed to Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes.
