FITZPATRICK, Dorothy L.
Kalamazoo Dorothy passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the age of 82. She was born January 13, 1933 in Jackson, MI to the late Arthur and Elizabeth Van Prooyen McDonald. She was united in marriage to Patrick J. Fitzpatrick on May 5, 1951 who survives. Dorothy will be remembered for providing a caring, loving home. Her #1 priority was her husband and family. She always provided a safe place to come home to and there would be a warm hug or back rub provided free of charge. Her faith was very important to her, missing church was not an option. She loved to meet with her bingo buddies. Her famous saying was, "meet me at the bingo hall". You could find her on Saturday afternoon sharing a coke with the love of her life, people watching. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Patrick Fitzpatrick; children, James Fitzpatrick, Karen Jeff Garrison, Paul Fitzpatrick, Carol Ron Burns, Laurie Fitzpatrick and Mary Fitzpatrick; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister. The family will greet friends on Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be Friday, March 20, 2015, 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St., Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Michigan Cancer Center in Kalamazoo.
