BARTLETT, Dorothy M. Youdell
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday morning, April 17, 2012 at Kairos Dwelling. Dorothy was born October 22, 1914 in Northern Michigan to the late Otis and Viola Baldwin. She was a longtime member of the Lane Blvd Church and a charter member of St. Andrew Community Church. Dorothy enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, bird watching, baking, and in earlier years, traveling with friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter C. Youdell; second husband, Dr. Curtis Bartlett; a son and daughter, James Otis Youdell, and Joan Bouters; and 2 brothers, Emzley and Donald Baldwin. Surviving are her daughters, Barbara Richard Spigelmyer, Judith Larry Holmes; daughter-in-law, Majel Youdell; 9 grandchildren, Mark Holmes, Beth Drake, Patricia Mark Barker, Debbie Trowbridge, Bradley Gloria Bouters, Joseph Youdell, Kent Youdell, Gregg Sherrie Youdell, and Ann Michael Wight; 24 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; 3 step-daughters, Patricia Scott, Eileen Goodall, Becky Yaple, and families. A service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held at 11:00am Friday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick, with Rev. Jim Dyke officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Thursday from 6-8pm and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to St. Andrew Community Church or the Kairos Dwelling.
