Died April 27, 2019 at Rose Arbor Hospice of Kalamazoo. Donna was born September 16,1926 in Grand Rapids, Michigan a daughter of Clarence and Vida (Wallace) Baker. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1950 and owned and operated the Dunkin Donuts on S. Westnedge for 10 years and finally retired from KOHL's in 2012 when she was 86 years old. Donna also attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Donna also enjoyed working in her yard, flower beds, feeding the squirrels and birds. She spent a lot of time putting together photo albums for each one of her Grand Children and Great Grand Children. On August 29, 1947, she was united in marriage to James D. Berkey who preceded her in death on March 14,1998. She was also preceded by a son, Terry Berkey; and a daughter, Linda Weiss; 2 brothers, Red and Phil Baker; and a sister, Evelyn (Dolly) Fish. Donna is survived by a son, Mark (Lynn) Berkey of Portage; 6 grandchildren, Travis (Kristine) Weiss of Portage, Jason Weiss of Portage, Chris (Kaycee) Berkey of Vicksburg, Matt (Nicole) Berkey of Long Beach, CA, Michelle (Javieit) Cavazos of Three Rivers, Bill (Heather) Berkey of North Carolina; 8 great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Noah, Gage, Isla, Gabby, Gia, Victoria and Levi; a sister, Janice VandeSchraff of Peoria, IL; 2 very close friends who were also members of her family, Lenett Graham and Marilyn Storch; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Friday at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1717 West Milham Ave. Visitation will be 6-8pm Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside services will be held 2 o'clock Friday in South Portage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be directed to the Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
