SRACKANGAST, Donald E.
Galesburg Donald E. Srackangast, age 86, of Galesburg, went to be with his Lord on April 6, 2014 at Borgess Medical Center. Don was born March 10, 1928 in Kalamazoo to Earl and Lenore Butcher Srackangast. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He then spent his career working for the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek. He loved fishing with his son, watching the grandkids play out in the yard and playing cards with good friends. He will be missed by everyone. Don was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dennis Whitmore. He is survived by his wife, Alice; his daughter, Ethel Whitmore; his son, Ron Kara Srackangast; his grandchildren, Crystal and Jennifer Whitmore, Timothy, Hannah, and Joseph Srackangast; his great-grandchildren, Jenna, Michael, and Kaitlyn, as well as many other relatives. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 8, from 6-8 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel; 145 W. Battle Creek St. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 1 PM with interment following at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
