RATHBURN, Delbert C.
Of Mattawan Delbert passed away early Friday morning, September 24, 2010. He was born February 11, 1935 in Colon, MI, the son of Lloyd and Ida Neal Rathburn. On December 5, 1953, Delbert was united in marriage to Janet L. Rop. He was employed by the City of Kalamazoo for almost 40 years until his retirement. Surviving are his four daughters, Della David Porter of Mattawan, Linda Jeff Russell of Wayland, Cindy Dallas Walton of Oshtemo, and Dianna Jeff Davis of Belleville, IL; nine grandchildren, Brenda Porter, David Porter, Amanda Hopp, Andrew Lana Russell, Airman Nicholas Kory Russell, Kaitlin Walton, Shelby Walton, Airman Sean Amber Davis, and Stephen Davis; three great-grandchildren, Daniel Price, Hanna Shrout, and Gavin Porter; one brother, Ellis Bernice Rathburn of Sears, MI, one sister, Arlie Huff of Sturgis; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife, Janet Rathburn on October 27, 1996; father, Lloyd Rathburn; mother, Ida Van Peenan; and two brothers, Morris and Donald Rathburn. Funeral services for Delbert will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street.
