David passed away early Monday morning, May 23, 2016, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born on September 2, 1941, in Youngstown, OH, the son of Emil and Jane (Brashear) Schultz. On October 27, 1961, David was united in marriage to Beverly J. Martin. He was a proud graduate and avid sports fan of The Ohio State University and a member of Berean Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Beverly Schultz; their three children, Pamela (Kurt) Kuipers of Clarksville, Tennessee, Denise Wolf of Arlington, TX, and Matthew (Elizabeth) Schultz of Kalamazoo; seven grandchildren, Ashley and Alissa Wolf, Katelyn and Alyssa Kuipers and Brendan, Connor and Kearsten Schultz; mother, Jane Schultz of Kalamazoo; sister, Janice Sharp of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and two nieces. Preceding him in death were his father and sister, Dianne Schultz. Friends may visit with David's family from 5-8 PM on Thursday, May 26, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue. A funeral service for David will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 27, at Berean Baptist Church, 7813 S. 12th Street, with Pastor Steve Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Portage Central Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Doctors Without Borders or Berean Baptist Church.
