BENSINGER, DALE Dale Reuben Bensinger, age 87, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 28, 2014. Dale was born August 6, 1927 in Pullman, MI, the son of Reuben and Myrtle Hayes Bensinger. He had served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Dale was a longtime Kalamazoo area resident and member of the Calvary Bible Church. For over 50 years he had served in many capacities on the church board, serving on the church staff including several years directing the Senior Citizens Ministry and singing in the church choir. Dale was employed by the Eckrich Company for over 37 years, retiring as a supervisor. On October 6, 1948, he was united in marriage to the former Beverly Mills Bensinger, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Carol Eddie Dickerson and Nancy Doug Postma; four grandchildren, Matt Rena Svoboda, Andrew Svoboda, Jennifer Jeff Belmonte and Melissa Jared Stout; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ray Sue Bensinger, Earl Bensinger and Lyle June Bensinger; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, October 31st at Calvary Bible Church, 855 S. Drake Rd. with Rev. Dr. John Barnett officiating. A private family interment with full military honors will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dale's memory may be directed to Calvary Bible Church Mission Fund.
