Passed away suddenly on Monday, November 30th at her home. She was born in Kalamazoo on October 27th 1980. Christina was preceded in death by her brother, Eric, her grandfather, Neil Locey; her uncles, John and Richard Locey, and her paternal grandparents, Russell and Alvina Cashen. She is survived by her mother, Kathleen Strobel, of Sarasota Florida, her father Dennis Cashen and Vicky White of Kalamazoo, her fiancé, Marc Cox, of Hudsonville, Michigan, and his parents, Hazel and Elmer Cox of Kentwood. She is also survived by her great aunt Arlene Iszck, and her extended family in the Detroit area; her uncle Tim Cashen and Suzanne Cashen, and cousins Aaron, Tom, and Molly. Also, her uncle Paul and aunt Linda Locey, cousins Michelle, Nicole, and Jeremy Locey and his family, along with her grandmother, Ruth Locey, and her aunt Sheila Locey. Christina was a 2008 graduate of WMU and had an interest in teaching and working with children. She was especially good at working with children with special needs. Christina was a beautiful, vivacious woman who was a free spirit and lived life on her own terms. She loved her life partner Mark, her family, numerous friends, her dog Ficas, and two cats. She also enjoyed Bells beer and the music of the band Phish, who she saw perform in numerous places all over the country. She will be greatly missed by all of those who had the privilege to know and love her. The family will greet friends on Monday, December 7th, from 10-12:00 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., Kalamazoo, where her life will be celebrated at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Christina's name may be directed to the Kalamazoo County Humane Society.
